Convert a message without losing its meaning
Enter your English text in the box above, choose a font version, and copy the output. Spaces and line breaks stay in place, so a short sentence remains easier to read when you decode it later. Start with a familiar word before converting a whole paragraph. If you are making a puzzle, keep a copy of the original message and tell the reader which version you used. This tool changes character symbols; it does not translate vocabulary or grammar.
Why uppercase and lowercase produce different symbols
Wingdings assigns pictures to character positions. Uppercase A and lowercase a occupy different positions, so they do not share a symbol merely because both are called “a.” In Wingdings 1, A becomes ✌ and a becomes ♋. The difference is intentional. Changing a message to uppercase changes its symbols and the text recovered by decoding. Preserve the original letter case for ordinary messages, or choose uppercase deliberately for a Gaster-inspired puzzle.
| Font version | Uppercase A | Lowercase a |
|---|---|---|
| Wingdings 1 | ✌ | ♋ |
| Wingdings 2 | 🖛 | 🙦 |
| Wingdings 3 | ⮑ | 🢧 |
Choose Wingdings 1, 2, or 3
Wingdings 1 contains the familiar mix of hands, faces, objects, and zodiac signs. Wingdings 2 has a different arrangement of pointing hands, checkboxes, enclosed numbers, and shapes. Wingdings 3 emphasizes directional arrows. These are separate mappings, rather than three visual themes for the same code. Use the version selector to compare your message. Share the version alongside the copied text, and use the character chart when a particular symbol matters.
Copying into WeChat, Word, and other apps
The copy button writes Unicode symbols, not a downloadable Wingdings font. WeChat or another messaging app may draw a supported character as an emoji, while a rare symbol may become an empty box. In Word, paste as plain text and choose a font that supports the symbols. Applying Wingdings to already converted output is not a reliable way to recover the original appearance. To use the actual font in Word, type the original English and apply Wingdings there instead. For a visually exact message, share a screenshot as well as readable text.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert numbers and punctuation?
Yes. The selected mapping includes digits and common punctuation. Characters without a mapped equivalent remain unchanged, and the tool reports their count.
Can the receiver decode my message?
Yes. Open the Wingdings to English page and select the same font version. Avoid editing the copied symbols between conversion and decoding.
Does changing the font make this encryption?
No. The character mapping is public and easy to reverse. Use it for creative messages and puzzles, not for protecting private information.
